Tag: New material is released by a gay music pioneer, on the 20th anniversary of his death

Background: In 1974 Steven Grossman made GLBT history by having the first lyrically gay album released by a major label. He died of AIDS in 1991, but six weeks before some of his friends got him into a studio to record a number of his unreleased songs. On the 20th anniversary of his death a CD of this material, called “Something in the Moonlight,” is being released.

The show this month features special live tracks, and interviews with Steven’s friends, and the CD’s producers, and from Steven Grossman himself, a historic interview from 1977. And, there’s more!...I’ve just added to my site a video of Steven in concert, from 1975.
