- An unprecedented online organizing campaign brought hundreds of thousands of gays, lesbians and their supporters out into the streets on November 15th to protest the passage of California's Proposition 8 and other same-gender marriage bans.? The total number of demonstrators, rallied by a new breed of net-savvy younger activists, may have topped a million in up to 300 different cities all over the United States.?
