- In "NewsWrap":  New Zealand voters' swing to the right in national elections worries some LGBT advocates... Hungary's Parliament passes two bills extending hate crime protections to gays and lesbians... the Delhi High Court may soon finally rule on India's Penal Code Section 377 outlawing same-gender sex... legal same-gender marriages begin in Connecticut [with a brief report by MELINDA TUHUS of "Free Speech Radio News"/www.fsrn.org]...  street demonstrations against the passage of California's marriage equality-banning Proposition 8 continue, while LGBT advocates debate the protest-targeting of Mormon temples [with brief sound from the demonstration in New York City]... and more LGBT news from around the world  (written by GREG GORDON, and reported this week by RICK WATTS and GREG GORDON).

– Just hours after CALIFORNIA's PROPOSITION 8 was approved by the voters, several lawsuits challenging its enforcement were filed with the state S
upreme Court.  The constitutional amendment that overturned marriage equality passed by a 52-to-48 percent margin on November 4th.  The lawsuits ask the same Court that ruled 4-to-3 to open civil marriage to same-gender couples to invalidate the measure. They argue that the state constitution’s equal protection provisions do not allow a simple majority to revoke the rights of a targeted minority.  Reporter DAN FRITZ was in the chambers of the LOS ANGELES COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS this week when they voted to join the City of Los Angeles, Santa Clara County, the City and County of San Francisco and others in the lawsuits challenging Proposition 8 [with comments by L.A. CITY ATTORNEY ROCKY DELGADILLO and CATHERINE LHAMON, Racial Justice Director of the ACLU OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA].

- Violinist PAUL FESTA had an unusual idea for a movie.  “APPARITION OF THE ETERNAL CHURCH” captures the responses of a select group of listeners to French Catholic composer OLIVIER MESSIAEN's work of the same name.  The openly gay musician/writer/filmmaker examines how people listen to music and how secular ears encounter sacred art.  Some of those ears include literary critic HAROLD BLOOM, filmmakers SANDI DUBOWSKI and JOHN CAMERON MITCHELL, actor/playwright EISA DAVIS, Broadway drag star JUSTIN BOND, and SCISSOR SISTERS singer ANA MATRONIC.  The film also caught the eye of "This Way Out" correspondent DIXIE TREICHEL [KFAI-FM/Minneapolis' "Fresh Fruit"], who spoke with Festa about his unique cinematic concept and
