While most of the mainstream U.S. press let the potential scandal slip by them, MSNBC's RACHEL MADDOW covered the unfolding story not once, not twice, but three times on her show last week [includes a brief comment by "Ha'aretz" reporter DEBRA NUSSBAUM COHEN, and many of AMERICAN FAMILY ASSOCIATION mouthpiece BRYAN FISCHER's most outrageous pronouncements]. ?=segues directly to = - Rachel Maddow's reports on the unholy alliance between the Republican National Committee and the American Family Association demonstrate what's played up as an eternal conflict between the Christian and the queer. But is there an antidote for the anti-LGBT poison spewed by such religious-right hate groups? JAMES ALEXANDER LANGTEAUX, the author of a new book on religion "for the left of us" - "GAY CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD: STRAIGHT TALK ON FANATICS, FAGS AND THE GOD WHO LOVES US ALL" - shared some healing words with "This Way Out's" STEVE PRIDE (with outro music from "God Loves Gay People, Too" performed by WILLIE HENDERSON and friends). =================================== * ============================== "This Way Out" is a U.S. tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit under the corporate name of OVERNIGHT PRODUCTIONS (INC.), and is supported by the Yavanna Foundation, a bequest from the estate of Christopher David Trentham, and donations from our listener-supporters. That prompted Alabama state SUPREME COURT CHIEF JUSTICE ROY MOORE to stand in the proverbial wedding chapel doors, ordering local probate judges not to follow the federal edict. And this month is also the last for OutRadio. I want to devote more energy to my history websites, like http://www.houstonLGBThistory.org http://www.texasobituaryproject.org and my digitizing project for early Houston publications, so it will be nice not to have the radio deadlines pressing me. But don't worry, the Queer Music Heritage website is not going away. It will stay as a history resource, and it archives almost 580 hours of programming to amuse you. Eastern Standard Time, jddoyle at qmh101.com writes: Last January was the 15th anniversary of Queer Music Heritage, and I've much enjoyed sharing and preserving our music culture, but I've decided that QMH has had a long enough run and that the show for March will be the last show. You'd have to listen around the clock for 24 days to hear it all.
