Dramatic dissent defines the marriage equality debate Down Under;
Lesbigay Mississippi parents fight the last adoptions ban in the U.S.;
Mexico's high court overturns state adoption restrictions, Costa Rica
considers common law equality, Chelsea Manning is charged with
possessing treacherous toothpaste, Ugandans celebrate Pride under the
radar, Reykjavik rolls out a rainbow road, and more global LGBT news!

- In "NewsWrap": Mexico's top court overturns state bans on adoptions by same-gender couples, while Costa Rica's president proposes a common law marriage bill for them… a sweeping package of LGBT rights bills named for Jerusalem Pride murder victim Shira Banki is introduced in Israel's parliament… trans Army Private Chelsea Manning — serving a 35-year sentence for the biggest military intelligence leaks in U.S. history - is reportedly placed in solitary confinement for violating "absurd" military prison rules… LGBT Pride is quietly celebrated in Uganda as publishers in the east African country seek funding for a second issue of their courageous "Bombastic" magazine*, while an entire rainbow street welcomes Reykjavik Pride participants… and more LGBT news from around the world (produced by STEVE PRIDE, written by GREG GORDON, and reported this week by WENZEL JONES and CHRISANNE EASTWOOD).

- Forty-nine down and one to go! Since the U.S. Supreme Court's marriage equality ruling in June, adoption rights have been one of the last sticking points for same-gender parents and their children.  Nebraska's ban on lesbian and gay couples fostering or adopting children was thrown out by a federal judge earlier this month, leaving MISSISSIPPI as the last state where such a ban still exists. But it may not be that way for long, despite the saber-rattling of Governor Phil Bryant, who says that he hopes the state Attorney General will "vigorously defend" the adoption prohibition passed by the legislature in 2000. Four Mississippi couples are taking on the law. MSNBC's ARI MELBER spoke this week with the super-lawyer who'll be representing them, ROBERTA KAPLAN (with intro music from "Love Is All It Takes To Make A Family" by ROMANOVSKY & PHILLIPS).

- Politics is also the obstacle to marriage equality in AUSTRALIA. It's supported by 69% of the public -- just one of the major issues threatening to deal anti-equality Prime Minister Tony Abbott's Coalition government a huge election loss. As BRENDAN TREMBATH reports from CANBERRA, the results of a dramatic Coalition meeting this week produced no surprises, with the possible exception of Abbott's promise to put marriage equality on the ballot; correspondent LOUISE YAXLEY then explores the political ramifications of this week's developments (featuring comments by Liberal Party PRIME MINISTER TONY ABBOTT, his sister and out Liberal Sydney lawmaker CHRISTINE FORSTER, Uniting Church minister MARGARET MAYMAN, Liberal MP WARREN ENTSCH, Opposition LABOR leader BILL SHORTEN, Attorney General GEORGE BRANDIS, Communications Minister MALCOLM TURNBULL, Liberal back-bencher DENNIS JENSEN, Nationals MP GEORGE CHRISTIANSEN, and Deputy Labor leader TANYA PLIBERSEK (with intro music from "Home Is Where the Heart Is" performed by PETER PAUL & MARY with HOLLY NEAR, and outro music from "Married" by DANIEL J. CARTIER).
