Commentator Abby Dees salutes California's Big Sur;
The UN Human Rights Council blasts anti-LGBT bias, "no promo homo"
passes Russian constitutional muster, South Africa's inclusive Open
Mosque is shuttered on a technicality, and more global LGBT news

-
In "NewsWrap": The United Nations Human Rights Council approves a
landmark resolution condemning anti-LGBT violence and harassment around
the world, and the International Olympic Committee – not wanting to
chance another Sochi – adds a provision to the standard host city
contract requiring an affirmation of the rights of sexual- and
gender-variant people, while Russia's Constitutional Court upholds the
nation's notorious law banning "the promotion of non-traditional sexual
relations to minors”… South Africa's first mosque to welcome people
regardless of gender or sexual orientation to worship together is shut
down less than a week after it opens… France's top court okays co-parent
status for a lesbian couple, one of whom conceived via in vitro outside
the country… the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission charges
two businesses with bias on the basis of gender identity in first-ever
lawsuits citing Title VII of the U.S. Civil Rights Act of 1964… and more
LGBT news from around the world (produced by STEVE PRIDE, written by
GREG GORDON and reported this week by WENZEL JONES and SARAH SWEENEY).

-
Entertainer NEIL PATRICK HARRIS recently tied the knot with his
long-time partner David Burtka – and he told ROSIE O'DONNELL and WHOOPI
GOLDBERG on ABC-TV's "The View" all about it. And as you hear this, the
U.S. Supreme Court may have already decided to take up marriage equality
appeals from one or more states. Everybody says it's inevitable, and
everybody's getting ready for it -- so Comedy Central's KEY & PEELE
came up with some family advice for uninitiated "wedding planners" (with
brief outro music by ELTON JOHN).

- Counted your blessings lately? Commentator ABBY DEES says a visit to CALIFORNIA's "BIG SUR" inspired this reflection on hers.
