The 2014 RightOutTV Music & Video Awards is underway and calling out to 
original LGBTI Artists from around the world!

Now in its fourth year, the RightOutTV Awards continues to spotlight LGBTI singer-songwriters and expose them to an illustrious panel of 50 music industry judges. 

Monica Mancini, daughter of famed film composer Henry Mancini, and Jim Caruso, multi-award winner and host of the NYC’s Showbiz Bash at Birdland are new additions to the judging team. They join longtime gay arts activists and the founders of the OUTMusic Awards Michael Biello and Dan Martin. 
Other judges include performer, John Gilmore, son of Capitol Records Vice President and Producer Voyle Gilmore; international recording artist Bif Naked; and Royd Haston from Warner Bros. and Walt Disney Studios.

“It is so exciting for us to have on board these professionals who know quality when they see it and some who even promote and connect with the artists after the competition to increase their visibility and help elevate their careers.” says co-producer, Marlee Walchuk.

“Every year, we also assess the indie music industry and try to add categories that reflect current trends to highlight what the artists are creating now. This led to the categories Best Lyric Video, Best Song and Best Video with a Social Message. We wanted to focus on the powerful statements that the LGBTI music community bravely puts into the world.” 

“Marriage Equality and anti-bullying are still issues that our queer ambassadors feel strongly about and we want to make sure they are heard by as wide an audience as possible/ Plus, nominations and award wins certainly help boost an artist’s bio,” adds Nathalie Callender, the other half of the awards production team. 

LGBTI artists are urged to look through their entire catalogues for works from any year in their career to be entered for Best Video and Best Song So Far and, of course, the popular Most Moving Video and Best Live Performance.

The deadline for submissions is Sept 30, 2014 and nominees will be announced Oct 16, 2014. 

The “Fan Fave” voting (the only public voted award) begins Oct 6, 2013.

The RightOutTV Music and Video Awards is an offshoot of the free LGBTI artist promotional site at RightOutTV.com. Walchuk and Callender of the music duo Sugarbeach, launched RightOutTV in November 2010 after realizing there were few places to release their own queer-messaged music videos. The women – married to each other – also saw a need for more unity in the global LGBTI music community. RightOutTV was created as a vehicle to serve both these purposes and to provide a fully developed promotional website and channel for artists who deserve more credit for being Out and proud with their music.
