Black New Jersey lesbians go to prison for going "Out in the Night";
Rightwing US televangelist Pat Robertson issues a "gay terrorism" alert;
Liberian churchmen blame gay people for Ebola, a Nigerian court nixes
a hetero challenge to the country's draconian anti-gay laws, hooded
vandals invade a Macedonian LGBT celebration, a trans veteran proves US
Army discrimination, "Gandalf" fights bullying, and more global news

-
In "NewsWrap": Liberian Roman Catholic and Anglican leaders preach that
Ebola is God's curse on the country for tolerating homosexuals; a
Nigerian Federal High Court judge dismisses a challenge to the draconian
anti-gay laws enacted in the country last year because the plaintiff is
heterosexual and therefore not directly affected by them… up to a dozen
homophobic hooded hooligans create mayhem when they invade the 2nd
anniversary party of an LGBT support center in the Macedonian capital of
Skopje, sending at least one young woman to the hospital… disabled
transgender veteran and civilian U.S. Army employee Tamara Lusardi wins a
landmark federal discrimination case… U.S. District Judge Perez Gimenez
breaks with most of his peers and upholds the ban on civil marriage for
same-gender couples in the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico… Hong Kong
Pride organizers coincidentally adopt the umbrella as their official
symbol this year and order 500 of them in rainbow colors weeks before
the umbrella becomes the symbol of pro-democracy "Occupy Central" street
protesters who use them to defend against tear gas, pepper spray, and
police batons… out British actor/activist SIR IAN McKELLEN revives the
wizardly "Gandalf" [brief sound intro'd by "Lord of the Rings" music] to
encourage students at a school he's visiting to properly prepare for
their examinations or, he warns, "You shall not pass!" - and ore LGBT
news from around the world (produced by STEVE PRIDE, written by GREG
GORDON, and reported this week by WENZEL JONES & MICHAEL LEBEAU).

-
Every time he opens his foot-filled mouth on the issue, one would think
that rightwing U.S. televangelist PAT ROBERTSON has hit bottom -- but
he keeps bottoming himself. His greatest hits include accusing
AIDS-infected gay men in San Francisco of purposely infecting people
using finger-pricking rings. He'd already cautioned a missionary to
beware of getting AIDS from towels in Africa on his show this week. Then
Right Wing Watch caught one of their most prolific offenders in another
unfounded diatribe -- this time about a group of pastors in Houston,
Texas who've been called to testify about their petition-gathering
practices during a failed effort to repeal the city's
anti-discrimination law.

- Their story was sensationalized by the
media and criminalized by overzealous law enforcement. Now it's been
documented in a new film by Blair Dorosh-Walther, which prompted
Entertainment Correspondent STEVE PRIDE to get the story directly from
RENATA HILL and PATREESE JOHNSON, two of the women whose lives were
forever changed just because they went "OUT IN THE NIGHT" (with brief
outro music from "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" covered by CHASE
HOLFELDER) [outinthenight.com].
