(hosted by Greg Gordon and produced with Lucia Chappelle)
Hillary engages in a heated marriage equality debate;
"The Daily Show" "cures" the Texas GOP revival of "reparative therapy";
Luxembourg jumps the broom, thousands promote pink families in Hong
Kong but there's little passion for marriage inequality in the U.S.,
Ugandanactivists get last-minute visas for Toronto World Pride, pro-
equalityPresident Santos is reelected in Colombia, and more LGBT news

-
 In "NewsWrap": Luxembourg lawmakers overwhelmingly approve civil
marriage and adoption rights for lesbian and gay couples, while the
General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA) blesses same-gender
marriages, but Hong Kong doesn't like gay and lesbian couples tying the
knot at the British consulate, even as thousands create a Pink Dot for
Pride in the city's Tamar Park, while barely 2,000 homophobes rail
against equality at the much-ballyhooed National Organization for
Marriage rally in Washington, D.C… Canadian Immigration reverses itself
and grants visas to several LGBT Ugandan activists to attend the World
Pride 2014 Human Rights Conference in Toronto… the Obama administration
has apparently gone as far as it can go in extending federal spousal
benefits to married same-gender couples, leaving it up to Congress
and/or the Supreme Court to finish the job… being in favor of marriage
equality doesn't hurt the re-election bid of Colombian President Juan
Manuel Santos.. and more global LGBT news (produced by STEVE PRIDE,
written by GREG GORDON, and reported this week by CHRISTOPHER GAAL &
 NATALIE PEOPLES).

- Who could forget last week's TEXAS
REPUBLICAN PARTY platform regression into a revival of so-called
"reparative therapy"? "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" offered the Lone
 Star GOP a typically caustic Comedy Central "cure".

 HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON may not be officially running for President, but
 the former U.S. First Lady, Senator and Secretary of State's current
book tour has her running into more "Hard Choices" than the title might
suggest. One of her more extensive interviews involving LGBT rights in
particular was featured on NPR's "Fresh Air." It was smooth sailing for
Clinton's conversation with host Terry Gross through the deep waters of
transsexuality, but they hit rough seas when it came to Clinton's
position on marriage equality.
