Mo B. Dick drags in a different direction;
Arrivederci, Giovanni;
The U.N. equalizes spousal benefits, a U.S. federal court finds
marriage equality won't harm Kentucky heterosexuals, SCOTUS nixes
conversion and contraception, freed Zambian gays face a fuzzy future,
Dorothy's friend unveils a housing plan for homophobes, and more news

-
 In "NewsWrap": The United Nations extends spousal benefits to its
legally married lesbian and gay workers equal to those given to married
heterosexual employees, but a Finnish parliamentary committee again
rejects a marriage equality proposal, while Kentucky's state ban on
civil marriage for same-gender couples is the latest in the U.S. to be
declared unconstitutional… the U.S. Supreme Court refuses to hear an
appeal of a lower court ruling upholding California's ban on so-called
"reparative therapy" for minors, but sides with closely-held businesses
like Hobby Lobby that want to deny birth control options for its female
workers based on religious belief – which could open the door to
religious-based bias against LGBT people [MSNBC's RACHEL MADDOW briefly
discusses the implications]… Zambia frees two young men charged with
engaging in illegal homosexual acts due to lack of evidence, while an
estimated 25,000 Jamaicans rally against LGBT rights in Kingston…
Seattle, Washington drag queen "MAMA TITS*" warns homophobic religious
protesters at the Emerald City's annual Pride parade to watch out for
falling houses [with brief sound].. and more LGBT news from around the
world (produced this week by WENZEL JONES & STEVE PRIDE, written by
GREG GORDON, and reported by WENZEL JONES & GARY SHAW).

- Brick
and mortar bookstores have taken a beating in the internet retail boom,
and many a feminist or LGBT store has bitten the dust: the A Different
Light chain, Washington D.C.'s Lambda Rising, and New York's Oscar Wilde
 to name a few. "This Way Out" commentator and devoted patron JANET
MASON turns out the lights for the last time in another very special
ROOM: GIOVANNI'S in PHILADELPHIA.

-
Drag *queens* have been getting lots more mainstream exposure these
days, what with the Tony-winning Broadway musical "Kinky Boots" going on
 tour, six successful seasons of "Ru Paul's Drag Race" on LOGO-TV and
all. But what about the other side of the gender coin? "This Way Out"
correspondent MICHELLE-MARIE GILKESON asked an expert –- MO B. DICK --
about performance, politics and wearing the pants.
