"The Gay Rub" collects impressions of history;
Coming out is a slam-dunk for a top tier US college basketball player;
Saudi cops bust 35 "gay party"-goers to promote "virtue",
an Italian court recognizes a gay couple's New York marriage, Utah's
marriage equality case is heard in a federal appeals court, Minnesota
moves against bullying, and more global LGBT news

-
 In "NewsWrap": 35 men are arrested by Saudi Arabia religious police for
 being at a "gay party" in Jeddah, while 4 gay men are jailed in Egypt
for "debauchery"… an Italian court orders the country's first-ever
recognition of the marriage of a same-gender couple legally performed
abroad… a 3-judge panel of the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals hears
Utah's case challenging a lower court decision declaring the state's ban
 on civil marriage for same-gender couples unconstitutional… Minnesota
Governor Mark Dayton signs an LGBT-inclusive state anti-bullying bill,
while Seattle, Washington city officials and his troop's church sponsor
stand behind ousted-because-he's-out Boy Scout leader Geoff McGrath… and
 more LGBT news from around the world (produced by STEVE PRIDE, written
by GREG GORDON, and reported this week by MICHAEL ALLAN and CAROLE
MEYERS).

- DERRICK GORDON won't have to hide anymore -- and
that's a first for a U.S. NATIONAL COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION
Division 1 basketball player. The UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS sophomore
publicly came out as gay in an interview this week with "ESPN's" KATE
FAGAN (with intro/outro music from the UMass Fight Song). Meanwhile, two
 U.S. sports legends - NBA Hall-of-Famer BILL RUSSELL and NFL great JIM
BROWN - each had brief comments about openly gay athletes during a panel
 discussion at this week's LBJ Civil Rights Summit.

- With a
black crayon and some polyester batting fabric – and no matter where you
 are in the world - you can help maintain history by rubbing it in. Our
STEVE PRIDE discovers "THE GAY RUB" with creator STEVEN REIGNS
[thegayrub.com; stevenreigns.com].
