I wanted to take a minute and first thank all of you that have emailed to check on either the chart and or me. All ok here. Two weeks ago my PC did the final crash. You may remember after our move to Alabama the motherboard crashed. Now it was/is pretty much the entire system. CPU, new motherboard etc. The machine was after all over seven years old, so I guess not bad eh? No data loss I was prepared and had all backed-up. However the new machine came with a new operating system, Windows 7. Thankfully not the dreaded Windows 8!!! With the new machine and system came a few other fun things like programs I use to compile the chart which do not work with Windows 7 and or programs which required an update/upgrade. Mostly a time issue. Now that I have all that done I can give a date/time when the chart will be posted. That will be either this evening or early in the morning tomorrow 10-2-2013. If you have emailed me in September and not heard back or waiting to schedule an interview, please email again. len at stonewallsociety.com I did experience some email loss during down time and transfer time. I still need to complete my research with regard to interview recording. Seems new machines no longer have a modem port installed. So looking at options on the recording side. Should have that project completed by beginning of next week. I will be emailing those I know are wanting an interview as soon as I have a definite date as to when I can begin again. My apologies to the voters and artists for the delay. however little could be done till items above were addressed. Again thanks for your patience and emails!!! All the best, Len Rogers OutVoice From greggordon2003 at yahoo.com Tue Oct 1 13:09:43 2013 From: greggordon2003 at yahoo.com (Greg Gordon) Date: Tue, 1 Oct 2013 11:09:43 -0700 (PDT) Subject: [OutVoice] "Petunia"+Gay Games & Sochi Olympics+global LGBT news Message-ID: <1380650983.40619.YahooMailNeo@web164602.mail.gq1.yahoo.com> "THIS WAY OUT: the international lesbian & gay radio magazine" Program #1,331 - distributed 09/30/13 Airs on more than 200 local stations around the world - Check the "Affiliate Stations" list on our website, or ?listen now via our free podcasts at www.thiswayout.org*, or on iTunes. *http://www.radio4all.net/index.php/program/71490 (hosted by Greg Gordon and produced with Lucia Chappelle) Dysfunctional family fun blooms in "Petunia"; A Gay Games planner explicates Olympic politics; Affirmations and accusations compete at the UN General Assembly, a Costa Rican judge closes an "accidental" marriage equality loophole but a New Jersey judge slams civil unions inequality, international protests boil over an Italian pasta king's homophobia, and more news - In "NewsWrap": 11 countries and the European Union reaffirm their support for LGBT rights during the 68th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, but Gambian President Yahya Jammeh uses his address to the General Assembly to call gays & lesbians one of the three "biggest threats to human existence," while Bangladesh rejects a recommendation by the U.N. Human Rights Council to abolish its colonial-era sodomy law? a family court judge in Costa Rica refuses to allow a gay couple to register as married even though legislators "accidentally" removed gender references in the country's marriage laws in July, but a Superior Court judge in New Jersey orders civil marriage opened to same-gender couples in the U.S. state on October 21st? CEO Guido Barilla gets his global pasta company in hot water by telling an Italian radio audience that their advertising will never feature a gay couple because "we like the traditional family," and "if gays don't like it they can buy another brand"; Amnesty International joins a chorus of global human rights groups criticizing the International Olympic Committee for being "completely satisfied" with Russian assurances that its "no promo homo" law won't put LGBT athletes or visitors to Sochi in harms way? and more LGBT news from around the world (written by GREG GORDON, produced by STEVE PRIDE, and reported this week by NATALIE PEOPLES and CHARLIE BAUER). - As the eyes of the international sporting world look nervously toward February's Winter Olympics in Sochi, LGBT athletes have their sites set on an event that's farther into the future -- in more ways than one. Tense repression under Russian law is expected to surround the traditional Games, but the 2014 GAY GAMES in August promise a much more progressive environment. Iran's religious militia arrest "a network of homosexuals and Satanists" during a raid of a birthday party in a private meeting hall near the Iraq border? at least 67 LGBT activists trying to observe National Coming Out Day are attacked by homophobes and then arrested in St. Petersburg, but the city's Side By Side film festival successfully appeals its conviction and heavy fine for being a "foreign agent"? Moldova repeals its version of a "no promo homo" law in its quest for E.U. membership? the late San Francisco Supervisor and gay rights pioneer Harvey Milk will be smiling at U.S. postage stamp users next year? and more LGBT news from around the world (written by GREG GORDON, produced this week by WENZEL JONES and STEVE PRIDE, and reported by NATALIE PEOPLES and WENZEL JONES). - Most people in New Jersey agree on two things: they love GOVERNOR CHRIS CHRISTIE, who enjoys a 63% favorability rating, and they support marriage equality. The problem is that equality and Christie don't fit. He vetoed a bill last year that would have opened civil marriage to lesbian and gay couples, he's currently challenging a state court order to do it, and he's consistently insisted that the issue be decided at the ballot box. Christie was unwavering when the question was raised during a debate with his pro-equality gubernatorial opponent, STATE SENATOR BARBARA BUONO, who was unable to turn his words against him (with brief intro music from "Married" performed by ALAN CUMMING). - You might think that the U.S., Europe, and most of the Western world have spoken with one voice to condemn the growing oppression of lesbians and gay men in Russia. But you?d be wrong. Several right-wing groups in the U.S. have applauded the trend. As we reported last week in "NewsWrap", America?s rabidly anti-gay National Organization for Marriage ? fresh off a string of failures to stop marriage equality from making gains in the U.S. ? has been exporting its homophobic agenda, most recently to Russia? The group?s president Brian Brown visited that country earlier this year to spread a message that was right in step with President Vladimir Putin?s escalating efforts to curb the basic rights of LGBT people. Brown?s efforts, and the vocal support Putin is getting from other right wing groups in the U.S., has also not escaped the notice of MSNBC news commentator Rachel Maddow (with comments by The Family Leader's BOB VANDER PLAATS and the American Family Association's BRYAN FISCHER). [msnbc.com] - Just what is "GAY"? And how does one go about "looking" it? Cultural theorist and self-identified mischief-maker CHARLIE BAUER tries to figure that out in his audio essay, "DO I LOOK GAY?" *************************************************************** "This Way Out" is a U.S. tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit under the corporate name of OVERNIGHT PRODUCTIONS (INC.), and is supported by grants from the Kicking Assets Fund of the Tides Foundation and the Yavanna Foundation, a generous bequest from the estate of Christopher David Trentham, and donations from our listener-supporters.
