(hosted by Greg Gordon and produced with Lucia Chappelle)
Europe's gay ruggers take the pitch in Bristol;
A California Senator vows to defeat Boy Scout bias;
Nigeria lawmakers punish LGBT people and their advocates with 10 years in
prison, but the first French gay couple makes it legal, the push for
marriage equality stalls in Australia and the U.S. state of Illinois,
rights marches make history in Croatia and the Ukraine, and more news

-
 In "NewsWrap": Nigeria legislators pass what could be the most
draconian anti-LGBT laws in Africa – if not the world; the first gay
couple legally weds in France, but violent opposition continues;
there'll be no marriage equality vote in Australia on June 6th as
expected, and the Illinois House ends its spring session without voting
on a bill that had been expected to make it the 13th U.S. state with
marriage equality [with brief comment by sponsoring lawmaker GREG
HARRIS]… 400 would-be brides and grooms march for equality in
conservative Croatia, while Kyiv hosts prominent foreigners and brave
local souls at the first-ever Pride parade in the Ukraine… Jallen
Messersmith becomes the first still-playing mens college basketball
player in America to come out, and formerly retired but newly-acquired
L.A. Galaxy Major League Soccer player Robbie Rogers becomes the first
openly gay man to play in a professional U.S. team sport… and more LGBT
news from around the world (written by GREG GORDON, produced by STEVE
PRIDE, and reported this week by JASON PROCTOR and TANYA KANE-PARRY).

-
 Fallout continues following the BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA's decision to end
 its ban on gay members, but not on LGBT leaders. The AMERICAN FAMILY
ASSOCIATION's BRYAN FISCHER relished the opportunity for unrestrained,
irrational ranting.

- CALIFORNIA STATE SENATOR RICARDO LARA
offers rational arguments in asking fellow lawmakers for their support
of his bill to deny tax-exempt status to the Boy Scouts and any other
youth group that discriminates.

- Amateur gay rugby teams from
all over Europe come together every two years for The Union Cup. The
U.K.’s BRISTOL Bisons hosted the fifth tournament in mid-May. "ShoutOut"
 program host MARY MILTON, along with her BCFM compatriots CHERYL
MORGAN, NATALIE NEWBURY and PAUL DAVIS, were on the pitch.
