(hosted by Greg Gordon and produced with Lucia Chappelle)
A blog and a book were both "Born This Way";
Conan O'Brien heals Pat Robertson's tummy ache;
An effort to pass ENDA returns to the U.S. Congress;
A Colombian judge says yes to a gay couple's marriage proposal,
 Kolkata Pride walkers question normalcy, the Tel Aviv LGBT Center
massacre is redefined as a hate crime, and more global news

–
 In "NewsWrap": A civil court judge in Bogota is set to preside over the
 first marriage of a same-gender couple in Colombia, while 3 same-gender
 couples are suing for the right to wed in Costa Rica after lawmakers
"accidentally" approved marriage equality legislation on July 1st… an
estimated 1500 LGBT people and their supporters participate in the 12th
annual Kolkata Rainbow Pride Walk in India, while a regional court in
Russia declares that the rough arrests of some 60 people trying to rally
 for LGBT Pride in St. Petersburg on June 29th violated their right to
freedom of assembly… Israeli authorities charge an apparent religious
fanatic with murder and attempted murder as hate crimes in the 2009
shooting rampage at a weekly youth group meeting at Tel Aviv's LGBT
Center that left 2 dead and 11 injured… and more LGBT news from around
the world (written by GREG GORDON, produced by STEVE PRIDE, and reported
 this week by WENZEL JONES & TANYA KANE-PARRY).

- If the
Employment Nondiscrimination Act could ever make it through Congress, it
 would prohibit most U.S. employers from firing or denying promotion
because of a worker's sexual orientation or gender identity. Efforts to
pass some form of the measure known as ENDA have been stymied again and
again, but it may have gained some steam this week when it passed the
Senate's Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee in a bipartisan
 vote of 15-to-7. ALICE OLLSTEIN of "Free Speech Radio News" covered the
 hearings in Washington (with comments by committee chair TOM HARKINS,
HEATHER CRONK of the advocacy group GetEQUAL, and MARA KEISLING of the
National Center for Transgender Equality).

-
U.S. televangelist PAT ROBERTSON has a problem with certain images he
sees on "Facebook" -- and late-night talk show host CONAN O'BRIEN has a
simple solution.

- "This Way Out" correspondent ANGELA BROOKS
discovered a blog that birthed a book that are "BORN THIS WAY". She
chats with the author of both, PAUL VITAGLIANO, about its genesis and
continuing evolution (with intro/outro music from "I Was Born This Way"
by CARL BEAN).
