(hosted by Greg Gordon and produced with Lucia Chappelle)
"Glee’s" Chris Colfer gets "Struck By Lightning";
The bawdy bard gets a queer companion;
U.K. rights pioneer Allan Horsfall gets his "Rainbow Minute";
Adoption laws get liberated in Austria and Germany but quashed in
Puerto Rico, an Australian federal judge sees no bias in the
country's hetero-only Marriage Act, and more global LGBT news

- In "NewsWrap": The European Court of Human Rights rules for
same-gender couple second parent adoption rights in a case brought by an
 Austrian lesbian couple, while Germany's highest court strengthens
adoption rights same-gender couples already have there, but Puerto
Rico's Supreme Court rules that gay and lesbian couples aren't entitled
to adoption rights of any kind... a federal judge in Australia rules
that a national law denying civil marriage to same-gender couples is not
 bias because it discriminates equally against gay men and lesbian
women... a new "Associated Press" Stylebook entry directs that
legally-married gay and lesbian spouses should not generally be referred
 to in A.P. stories as "husband" or "wife", but revises that guideline
after escalating protests from grassroots activists and major LGBT
organizations -- but giant online retailer Amazon had already seen the
handwriting on the wall [audio from "Husbands", a new TV ad for the
Kindle Paperwhite]... and more LGBT news from around the world (written
by GREG GORDON, produced by STEVE PRIDE, and reported this week by
JOHNNIE TORRES and MICHELLE-MARIE GILKESON).

- What sound through yonder speaker breaks? 'Tis our "Queer Life &
Literature" commentator JANET MASON turning the pages of "SHAKESQUEER: A
 QUEER COMPANION TO THE COMPLETE WORKS OF SHAKESPEARE" (edited by
Madhavi Menon for Duke University Press).

- The liberated life of "U.K. PIONEER ALLAN HORSFALL" is celebrated in a
 "RAINBOW MINUTE" (produced by JUDD PROCTOR & BRIAN BURNS at WRIR-FM
 in Richmond, Virginia and read by TOM MILLER).

- High school senior Carson Phillips needs to bolster his college
application. So the outcast literary journal editor uses extortion to
turn the most popular students into contributors. Carson's plan is
abruptly zapped in "STRUCK BY LIGHTNING", however, which bears a passing
 resemblance to the life of its Executive Producer, screenwriter and
star CHRIS COLFER -- as our Entertainment Correspondent STEVE PRIDE
discovered (with Colfer comments and clips from the film).
