(hosted by Greg Gordon and produced with Lucia Chappelle)
Aussie crooner Nathan Leigh Jones re-invents holiday classics;
Early 1970s U.S. gay activism is recalled in a "Rainbow Minute";
British Olympian Tom Daley dives into a gay relationship;
Russia's highest court upholds the country's "no promo homo" laws,
Croatian voters and the Greek government slam same-gender couples,
U.S. and U.K. courts order bias-free public services, and more news

 In "NewsWrap": Russia's highest court rules that laws criminalizing the
 dissemination of "propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations to
minors" do not violate the national constitution, while major corporate
sponsors of the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi are being pressured to
overtly oppose Russia's repressive attacks on gay rights… heavily Roman
Catholic Croatians overwhelmingly vote a ban on marriage equality into
their national constitution, while the Greek government caves to
conservative and religious pressure by scrapping a proposal to open the
country's civil unions to same-gender couples… same-gender couples start
 legally marrying in the Australian Capital Territory on December 7th,
but they could all be annulled by a High Court ruling on December 12th…
LGBT people join the world in mourning the death of iconic South African
 human rights advocate Nelson Mandela, who created a "Rainbow Nation"
with the help of the late gay anti-apartheid and AIDS activist Simon
Nkoli… a court in the U.S. state of Colorado and the U.K. Supreme Court
each decide that gay and lesbian couples deserve to be treated equally
under the law [with a brief comment by STEVEN PREDDY, one of the British
 plaintiffs]… and more LGBT news from around the world (written by GREG
GORDON, produced by STEVE PRIDE, and reported this week by MICHAEL

-“ BuzzFeed's" Saeed Jones may have
 put it best: ever since the YouTube video posted on December 2nd by
BRITAIN's Olympic diving medalist TOM DALEY announcing that he's in a
relationship with another man, media outlets – both mainstream and LGBT –
 have said that he's gay or in a gay relationship – one specifically
named an Oscar-winning screenwriter as the boyfriend. Or they've called
him bisexual, or insisted that he's not. Others have simply said he's
"come out" and left readers, viewers or listeners to arrive at their own
 conclusions.  "All this," notes Jones, "despite the fact that Daley
himself didn't use the words 'gay' or 'bisexual' at all" [listen to
Daley for yourself] (with intro/outro music from "Imagine My Surprise"
- We discover "DR. BROWN'S PRESCRIPTION" for early
1970s rights in this "RAINBOW MINUTE" (produced by JUDD PROCTOR &
BRIAN BURNS at WRIR-FM in Richmond, Virginia, and ready by DAN ROBERTS).

 Even harder than finding the gift for the person who has everything,
it's no cinch to get a truly new take on those traditional Yuletide
tunes. Queer music-meister JD DOYLE found "BRAND NEW CHRISTMAS" from
Australia's NATHAN LEIGH JONES under his tree, and decided to open it
early (with excerpts from Jones' versions of "Deck The Halls", "Have
Yourself A Merry Little Christmas", and "Angels We Have Heard On High").
