(hosted by Greg Gordon and produced with Lucia Chappelle)
A "Brothers & Sisters" actress takes center stage as celebrity Mother;
The U.S. march to equality finds Republicans flat-footed;
A masked gang wreaks havoc at a Moscow gay bar, Belgrade authorities
force Pride inside, France prepares to pop the question, Australia's
parliament refuses to support state marriage rights, Big Bird bashing
brings its gay parentage out of the coop, and more global LGBT news

- In "NewsWrap": More than 20 masked men storm into a popular Moscow gay bar using fists, bottles and caustic substances to injure at least 10 patrons, sending four to the hospital... police officials force Belgrade Pride off Serbian streets and into a conference hall for a forward-looking celebration... the French government announces that its ministers will approve a marriage equality measure on October 31st, but a bill to stop the federal government from challenging state or territorial marriage equality measures fails by a wide margin in the Australian Parliament... the "Daily Beast" tells the unique love story of Big Bird's two gay dads... and more LGBT news from around the world (written by GREG GORDON, produced by STEVE PRIDE, and reported this week by SARAH SWEENEY and ROBERT LEBLANC).

- Pre-election U.S. public opinion surveys in the past have sometimes suggested support for gay rights measures, but actual votes on them at the ballot box have not followed suit. American voters are again favoring marriage equality in three of the four states where the issue is on the ballot this November. And pundits believe the latest forecasts parallel a significant national shift in public opinion that's taken hold in what seems like a very short time -- a shift that seems to have left REPUBLICANS behind. The rapidly growing support for marriage equality did not escape MSNBC's RACHEL MADDOW, of course, as she chewed over its significance for the Grand Old Party's future with Salon.com's STEVE KORNACKI.

- The HUMAN RIGHTS CAMPAIGN's Ally for Equality Award-winner this year is well-known for great acceptance speeches -- as well as her award-winning movie roles in "Norma Rae", “Places in the Heart”, and "Steel Magnolias", and her television work that ranges from "The Flying Nun" to "Brothers and Sisters". Speaking at HRC's October 6th gala in Washington, D.C., beloved actress SALLY FIELD, introduced by her youngest son Sam, proved that a mother's personal testimony can have a powerful impact on other parents of LGBT people (with intro/outro music from "Everybody Has To Have A Mother" by THE NEW MISS ALICE STONE LADIES SOCIETY ORCHESTRA).
