Comments by VICE PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN on the May 6th broadcast of NBC-TV's "Meet the Press" – echoed the following day by Education Secretary ARNE DUNCAN – reportedly forced the president to announce his support for marriage equality sooner than he had planned.
