As some may have heard the OutVoice list as well as my email, and a member's was the target of several spam complaints over the last few weeks. The complaints stem from mostly an aol user or users and a yahoo user or users. The complaints also stem from when I am emailing posts to two other lists. So from today forward all OutVoice, SWS, Rainbow World Radio, GLBT Hall Of Fame etc posts will be made to the OutVoice list only. This is just to insure the end of the spam complaints. Dealing with these complaints can take the better part of a day. Over the last few weeks, the OutVoice list, Rainbow World Radio, the OutVoice website, and my email have been taken down for up to sixteen hours over these complaints. So it is much more productive to restrict posting and install new software. I have no problems with the other two lists. In case you have seen my posts on another list just wanted to explain. This is caused by the actions of either a user or a domain, not the list itself or the list owner. Although I kind of doubt Yahoo or AOL are focused on the SWS Network. I will begin work with the new software later today. The installation of the new management software will hopefully be complete by the end of the week. As I understand you should not experience any service interruptions from the list. the pages may look different and you may be asked to verify but that is about it. Sorry for any inconvenience on verification, but this will ensure the security of the list and end spam problems. More news later today on the performance opportunity I posted a few weeks ago. That includes a great night for the Wavos and the local bar, as well as some future performance opportunities as the bar management has asked me to assist with a concert series. White was an American teenager who became an HIV/AIDS poster child in the 1980s when he was expelled from school because of his disease, which he contracted from a contaminated blood treatment. Estrada?s method is particularly interesting because he uses entertainment-education in his shows. He uses comedy to educate people about HIV/AIDS. The approach is appealing, particularly to young people. The audience is entertained and at the same time learning. Synopsis: Solo theatre artist Jade Esteban Estrada chronicles the last quarter century of the AIDS epidemic in the United States with stories of courage, strength and human triumph. Meet ?Boobs? AKA the Bubonic Plague, Jimmy, real estate agent in New York in 1981, movie star Rock Hudson, Miss Protease Inhibitor 1996, Bill McPhil, a Texan cowboy and LaShonda Johnson, a housewife in south side Chicago. The Southwest Actors Guide calls Estrada ?one of the finest solo theatre artists of the 21st century.? (hosted by Greg Gordon and produced with Lucia Chappelle) A celluloid activist stars in his own movie; New Zealand's Parliament is introduced to marriage equality, Scotland's government issues its own wedding proposal, Amazon parents fund the defense of Washington parity, Muppet-makers part with a homophobic chicken magnate?s money, coming out was Sally Ride's final frontier, and more global LGBT news - In "NewsWrap": A marriage equality bill is introduced in the New Zealand Parliament but has a long and winding road ahead, while Scotland's government announces that it will sponsor a marriage equality measure in Parliament later this year... Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos and his wife MacKenzie make history with their 2.5 million-dollar donation to the coalition fighting to preserve the marriage equality law in the state of Washington in the face of a November ballot initiative to repeal it... the homophobic head of the Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A restaurant chain ? one of the largest in the U.S. ? causes a furor by admitting that they're "guilty as charged" of donating millions of dollars to right-wing anti-gay causes... it turns posthumously "out" that America's first woman in space Sally Ride was also its first lesbian... and more LGBT news from around the world (written by GREG GORDON with thanks to REX WOCKNER, produced by STEVE PRIDE, and reported this week by WENZEL JONES & SARAH SWEENEY). - "VITO" paints a touching portrait of proud New Yorker VITO RUSSO, an outspoken activist in the LGBT community's struggle for equal rights and battle against AIDS in the early years, but perhaps best known as a film historian for "The Celluloid Closet", in which he documented the portrayal of LGBT people over the years on the big screen. This new documentary about his life and times uses period footage, including film clips and the activist's own comments, to capture a vibrant era of gay culture. "Vito" debuted on HBO this week as part of the premium cable channel's Documentary Summer Series, and repeat showings are scheduled. Award-winning "This Way Out" entertainment reporter STEVE PRIDE chats with "Vito's" award-winning writer/director JEFFREY SCHWARZ about his film, how it came to be, and the man (with outro music from "Everything In Its Own Time" performed by the INDIGO GIRLS).
