- The global struggle for LGBT equality during the past year was also reflected in motion pictures and on television.  With copious clips and comments by their makers, "This Way Out's" award-winning entertainment reporter STEVE PRIDE recalls some of the LGBT moving images that moved him most during the past 12 months on his "PRIDE ON SCREEN 2011". First,  gays and lesbians became more multi-dimensional on the small screen, as evidenced by the character "Max Blum" on TV's "HAPPY ENDINGS" (with a clip), and they showed up in pairs on "GLEE", MODERN FAMILY", "GREY'S ANATOMY", and even as partnered hunky but unhappy ghosts on "AMERICAN HORROR STORY" (with a clip); and then Steve counts down his Top Ten Movies Of The Year: (#10) "THE WISE KIDS", with a clip and comments by writer/director STEPHEN CONE; (#9) "THE TOPP TWINS: UNSTOPPABLE GIRLS", with clips and comments by the featured duo; (#8) "WE WERE HERE", with a clip and comments by writer/director DAVID WEISSMAN; (#7) "GUN HILL ROAD", with a clip and comments by writer/director RASHAAD ERNESTO GREEN; (#6) "AUGUST", with a clip and comments by writer/director ELDER RAPPAPORT; (#5) "LEAVE IT ON THE FLOOR", with a clip and comments by director SHELDON LARRY; (#4) "WITH YOU: THE MARK BINGHAM STORY", with a clip and comments by Bingham's mother ALICE HOAGLAND; (#3) "BEGINNERS", with a clip and comments by writer/director MIKE MILLS; (#2) "WEEKEND", with a clip and comments by writer/director ANDREW HAIGH; and (#1) "PARIAH", with a clip and comments by writer/director DEE REES.
