Transcendent entertainer Justin Vivian Bond lives outside the boxes;
Zimbabwe activists are "screened" for discussing discrimination,
hackers post Pride to Ugandan government websites, Lebanese activists
protest gay detainee humiliation, Canada's top Protestant church elects
mainstream Christianity's first openly gay leader, thousands agitate
for marriage equality across Australia, and more global LGBT news

- In "NewsWrap": Harare police raid the headquarters of Gays And Lesbians of Zimbabwe (GALZ) and detain 44 members overnight for "screening", but online activists known as Anonymous hack Ugandan government websites to demand the end of arrests and harassment of LGBT people, while demonstrators in Lebanon's capital of Beirut protest the arrests of 36 men at a gay movie house who were forced to undergo anal probes to determine it they'd engaged in homosexual acts... the United Church of Canada -- the country's largest Protestant denomination -- elects Rev. Gary Paterson as its first openly gay moderator... thousands mark the eighth anniversary of the passage of Australia's federal Marriage Amendment Bill that denies civil marriage to same-gender couples with protest marches and rallies across the country... a Ukrainian Commission charged with protecting "public morality" warns that several animated television shows, including "Spongebob Squarepants" -- who Commission "experts" identify as "gay" -- are "aimed at the destruction of the family" and will turn the country's children into "criminals and perverts"... plus more LGBT news from around the world (written by GREG GORDON, produced by STEVE PRIDE, and reported this week by ABBY DEES & JOHN TORRES).

- The artist formerly known as "he", JUSTIN VIVIAN BOND, is an actor, writer, performance artist, singer, and painter who transcends gender and eschews labels. Bond is also the author of the Lambda Literary Award-winning memoir "TANGO: My Childhood, Backwards and in High Heels"; was nominated for a Tony Award for "Kiki and Herb Alive On Broadway"; appeared in John Cameron Mitchell's film "Shortbus" and will soon be seen in the upcoming feature "Sunset Stories"; and just released a soulful new CD called "Silver Wells". Mx Bond, Justin Vivian -- no relation to the British secret agent -- recently sat down for a wide-ranging conversation with "This Way Out's" STEVE PRIDE in Los Angeles (with an excerpt from a "Kiki and Herb" performance; and music from "In The End", from the film "Shortbus", and "Until The Real Thing Comes Along", from his new CD "Silver Wells", each performed by JUSTIN VIVIAN BOND).
