"THIS WAY OUT: the international lesbian & gay radio magazine"
  Program #1,230 - distributed 10/24/11
  Airs on more than 200 local stations around the world... or
  Listen now via our free podcasts at www.thiswayout.org or on iTunes.
  (hosted this week by Greg Gordon and produced with Lucia Chappelle)
  A double feature portrays "Weekend" romance & "Dirty Girl" friendship;
  High-visibility activism goes all glittery;
  A gay sex bust snares a Northern Cyprus dignitary while Zimbabwe denies
  condoms to prisoners because it's illegal for men to have sex with men
  there, another bullied gay teen takes his own life, inequalities linger
  after "Don't Ask Don't Tell" repeal, and more global LGBT news

- In "NewsWrap": Northern Cyprus' former Finance Minister and two others are arrested in a private home in north Nicosia for "acts against nature", while Zimbabwe Prison Services denies condoms to men behind bars because gay sex is illegal there... bullied 15-year-old Canadian 10th-grader Jamie Hubley becomes the latest headline-making gay teen suicide... a U.S. federal judge okays a lawsuit seeking full separation pay denied to gays and lesbians honorably discharged under "Don't Ask Don't Tell", and another lawsuit will demand equal benefits for legally-married active duty lesbian and gay service members... judges in California and Washington okay the release of anti-gay ballot measure petition signatures... and more LGBT news from around the world (written by GREG GORDON, produced by STEVE PRIDE, and reported this week by MICHAEL LEBEAU and GARY SHAW).

- Not since Anita Bryant got hit in the face with a pie has confronting right-wing conservatives been so much fun. A group of activists who call themselves THE GLITTERATI are demonstrating their disdain by dousing some prominent homophobes with glitter, sometimes shouting "Feel the Rainbow!" Their most recent targets included the Minnesota Faith and Freedom Coalition, and Karl Rove, the so-called "brain" behind George W. Bush – all near the home turf of KFAI-FM in Minneapolis-St. Paul and its “Fresh Fruit” show. DIXIE TREICHEL asked three veteran Glitterati - NICK ESPINOSA, JOANNA HIRVELA and RACHEL LANG - about their sparkling strategy.

- When was the last time you saw a double feature? Our entertainment correspondent STEVE PRIDE goes old school to bring us everything but the popcorn with preview clips of "WEEKEND" and "DIRTY GIRL", and comments by their respective filmmakers, director ANDREW HAIGH and writer/director ABE SYLVIA.
