Pasta Pizzaz Fundraiser for the Long Island Transgender Day of 
Remembrance. 
Community members come together in support to celebrate the transgender 
community with a “Pasta Pizzaz” Dinner on June 5th at The South Nassau 
Unitarian Universalist Congregation, Freeport Long Island. 
This festive occasion, hosted by the congregations Interweave and LI TDOR 
is a fundraiser for the yearly event held each November; The Transgender 
Day of Remembrance. 
The Transgender Day of Remembrance was set aside to memorialize those who 
were killed due to anti-transgender hatred or prejudice. The event is held 
in November to honor Rita Hester, whose murder on November 28th, 1998 
kicked off the “_Remembering Our Dead_ 
(http://www.rememberingourdead.org/index.html) ” web project and a San Francisco candlelight vigil in 1999. Rita 
Hester’s murder has yet to be solved. 
“The November event is a solemn event but the fundraiser is a festive time”
said “Ari Dupree, this year’s committee chair. 
With the theme of Italian Romance, for the suggested donation of $20.00 
participants will be treated to spaghetti, meatballs, salad and an array of
desserts prepared by east end chef Robyn Weston. Entertainment will be by 
Robert Urban, Delfina, Chelsea Goodwin, Cynthia Brian Kate plus many more. 
Raffle prizes consist of gift certificates at local restaurants, tickets 
to the LI Ducks plus many other surprises! 
The event will be held at; 228 South Ocean Ave. Freeport Long Island. 

Doors open 5:00 PM.
