Airs on more than 200 local stations around the world... or

http://www.thiswayout.org
(hosted by Greg Gordon and produced with Lucia Chappelle)
Two debuts and a roots-reviving favorite fill the "Audiofile";
Honoring the rhymes and reasons of a lost literary generation;
St. Petersburg busts break up a Pride ban protest, a rash of raids nab
gay Syrians at private parties, the EuroCourt rules that marriage
equality is not a human right, same-gender marriage doesn't translate
into German, Castro men wrestle against the BP oil spill, and more news

- In "NewsWrap": At least five activists are arrested at an unauthorized Pride demonstration in St. Petersburg, Russia, while about 600 LGBT people and their supporters survive anti-queer threats to march for Pride in Brno, the Czech Republic, but there are reports that Syrian authorities have arrested dozens for obscenity, illegal drugs and "encouraging" homosexuality in recent raids on private gay parties... the European Court of Human Rights rejects a gay Austrian couple's bid for marriage equality, and a Berlin court rules that same-gender couples who legally marry in other countries are not married in Germany... gay men in San Francisco's Castro district get slippery to protest the BP Gulf oil spill... and more LGBT news from around the world (written by GREG GORDON, with reported this week by PAM MARSHALL and CHRIS WILSON).

- "PERSISTENT VOICES: POETRY BY WRITERS LOST TO AIDS" (from Alyson Books) gives new life to a selection of artists whose absence has weighed heavily on the queer literary world. For "This Way Out" commentator JANET MASON, the collection represents an honoring, and in some ways a resurrection, of a very emotional era (with intro/outro music from "They Are Falling All Around Us" performed by the late MICHAEL CALLEN, from his "Legacy" CD, with CRIS WILLIAMSON & HOLLY NEAR).

- An iconic band's roots revival [excerpts from "Honey Money" and "Pack of Newport" from SONIA & DISAPPEAR FEAR's "BLOOD, BONES & BALTIMORE"] accompany two debut CDs ("Think About You" and "Beyond Forever" from MAMA'S BLACK SHEEP's "UNMARKED HIGHWAY", and "I'll Give You (What You Want) " and "How Do You Know (You're in Love)" from RYAN STATES' "STRANGE TOWN"] in this month's "AUDIOFILE" (with comments by Laura Cerulli of Mama's Black Sheep and Ryan States, hosted by JD DOYLE & CHRIS WILSON, and written and produced with CHRISTOPHER DAVID TRENTHAM).
