Airs on more than 200 local stations around the world... or

http://www.thiswayout.org
(hosted by Greg Gordon and produced with Lucia Chappelle)
"Out" musicians have stories to tell & places to go in the "Audiofile";
O'Reilly's rant ranks gay teens with terrorists;
A "Rainbow Minute" honors the gay father of modern American literature;
The UN's ECOSOC denies official status to IGLHRC, Ghana protestors
petition to ban homosexuality, Pakistani police storm an alleged same-
gender wedding, Obama proclaims Pride, and more global LGBT news

- In "NewsWrap": A committee of the United Nations Economic and Social Council rejects consultative status for the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission... more than a thousand mostly young Muslims stage a first-ever march against homosexuality in Ghana... a 42-year-old Pakistani man and his 19-year-old transwoman friend are arrested in a raid on the teen's birthday party in Peshawar and are being charged with sodomy... U.S. President Barack Obama issues an official LGBT Pride Month proclamation and issues a memo outlining the benefits he ordered last year for the partners and children of lesbigay federal workers... Dutch researchers say they may have discovered evidence that "gaydar" actually exists... and more LGBT news from around the world (written by GREG GORDON, and reported this week by CHRIS WILSON and MICHAEL LEBEAU).

- A teen is sitting in a booth at McDONALD'S while his father gets their food at the order window. That's how a new TV ad in FRANCE for the fast food giant begins. It becomes obvious during the commercial that the teen is gay. But to commentator BILL O’REILLY on the self-proclaimed "Fair and Balanced" FOX NEWS CHANNEL, McDonald's might as well have been selling burgers... to terrorists? LGBT advocacy groups responded to O'Reilly's rant with condemnation and ridicule (with thanks for the voice-over English translation of the French TV ad to CHRIS WILSON and MICHAEL LEBEAU).

- "WALT WHITMAN, THE FATHER OF MODERN AMERICAN LITERATURE" is celebrated in a "RAINBOW MINUTE" (produced by JUDD PROCTOR and BRIAN BURNS at WRIR-FM in Richmond, Virginia and read by MICHAEL HINERMAN).

- Humor [excerpts from "Chrissie Hynde is a Lesbian (in my head)" and "Bring Me Back to 17" from DIANA DI GIOIA's "OUT LATE"], honesty ["Crazy Fool" and the title track from RICHARD CORTEZ's "SLEEPING WITH STRANGERS"], and heart ["Saint Christopher" and "This Poetry" from AMY CAMPBELL's "OH HEART OH HIGHWAY"] tune up this edition of the "AUDIOFILE" (with comments by the artists, hosted by JD DOYLE and CHRIS WILSON, and written and produced with CHRISTOPHER DAVID TRENTHAM.
