(hosted this week by Greg Gordon and produced with Lucia Chappelle)
Wizardry, twins, and songs of the South mix it up in the "Audiofile";
A knight and gay appraisal of Proposition 8;
Uganda lawmakers may stop short of gay genocide; a dad, experts, and
hostility dominate the second week of the federal Prop 8 trial;
Hawai'ian Senators prefer civil unions; the Roman Catholic Church
bad-mouths Brazilian rights proposals; and more global LGBT news

- In "NewsWrap": The government of Uganda appears to be feeling the heat of international condemnation over the harshest elements of its proposed "kill the gays" legislation... testimony by Republican San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders, expert witnesses on the inequality of civil unions and the immutable nature of sexual orientation, and hostile witness and named defendant Hak-Shing William Tam exposing the homophobic nature of the Prop 8 campaign dominates the second week of the landmark federal court case being heard by Chief U.S. District Court Judge Vaughn Walker in San Francisco challenging the constitutionality of California's marriage equality-banning voter-approved ballot measure... the Hawai'i state Senate approves an everything-but-the-word-marriage civil unions bill... Brazil's President Lula da Silva is under fire from the country's Roman Catholic Church over his government's proposals to decriminalize abortion and expand rights for same-gender couples... and more LGBT news from around the world (written by GREG GORDON, and reported this week by RICK WATTS and TANYA KANE-PARRY).

- SIR IAN McKELLEN was perfectly in character this week commenting on the recent comings out of 3-time all-Ireland hurler Dónal Og Cusack and Welsh rugby star Gareth Thomas. During a BBC radio interview, the actor/activist lamented the failure of the professional sports world to keep up with Western society's growing acceptance of homosexuality. The 70-year-old co-founder of the UK's LGBT advocacy group Stonewall knows whereof he speaks regarding politics, and he's not shy about thinking globally, either. When he sat down for a chat with "This Way Out" correspondent SANTINA GIORDANO, McKellen took on queer oppression in general – and California's Proposition 8 in particular.[www.mckellen.com]

- Wizardry (excerpts from "They Call Me" and "Running Free" from SOCE's "MASTER OF FINE ARTS"), twins ("Ghosts" from CHRISTOPHER DALLMAN's EP "NEVER WAS" and "Gimme More" from his EP "SAD BRITNEY"), and songs of the South ("I Wanna Know" and "Muscle Shoals" from ROGER MAPES' "HOUSE OF JOY") mix it up in this month's edition of the "AUDIOFILE" [with comments by each artist, hosted by JD DOYLE & CHRIS WILSON, written & produced with CHRISTOPHER DAVID TRENTHAM].
