Hey everyone - 


Thanks to all who replied and supplied good suggestions for Odetta songs
and early 20th Century African-American songs. 


I'm helping in the song choices & musical arrangements for an exciting, upcoming theatrical fundraiser, which will be held
this Sept. in NYC to benefit African-American playwrights. The music part of the fundraiser will feature songs that speak to the "fire" and forward movement of African Americans throughout the decades of the 20th Century. 


I'm excited at the prospect of playing such great material - esp. with such fine musicians and singers.
