U.S. Army Secretary John McHugh "misspeaks" about "Don't Ask Don't Tell" enforcement, the Department of Justice uses outdated comments to support the policy, while retired Marine General John Sheehan apologizes for his inflammatory remarks about the Dutch military... pop singer Ricky Martin comes out as gay, while Oscar-winner Anna Paquin comes out as bisexual... and more LGBT news from around the world (written by GREG GORDON, and reported this week by PAM MARSHALL and GREG GORDON). - Trailblazing New Zealand sex worker-turned-successful-transsexual-politician GEORGINA BEYER is saluted in "GEORGINA AND HER CHANGED LIFE" in this "RAINBOW MINUTE" (produced by JUDD PROCTOR and BRIAN BURNS at the studios of WRIR-FM in Richmond, Virginia and read by DUSTIN RICHARDSON). - A former high school quarterback, now a transgendered lesbian filmmaker, returns home to a small town in MONTANA for her class reunion, also hoping to reconcile with her long estranged adopted brother. But along the way "PRODIGAL SONS" uncovers stunning revelations, including a blood relationship with Hollywood royalty, violence, mental illness, intense sibling rivalries, and unforeseeable twists of plot and gender. "This Way Out's" STEVE PRIDE says producer/director KIMBERLY REED dives headfirst into an unflinching portrait of her family that is absolutely engrossing and marks her coming-out, in more ways than one. My inspiration for the 6/8 blues shuffle tempo and guitar arrangements on this tune is Jeff Beck's cover of the Willie Dixon classic "I Ain't Superstitious" from the first Jeff Beck album TRUTH (wherein the wah-wah is engaged but kept in the low position - thus whilst ripping the guts outta the guitar produces that lovely, southern-fried "squonky" sound). "I Wanna Know"'s bombastic finale is pure Pete Townshend pinwheel bulldozer chords combined with multi-layered infinite-sustain guitar lines ala Robert Fripp. And of course the icing on the cake is Roger's holy-rollin', gospel-rock wailing vocal throughout. luv ru producer - "I Wanna Know" URBAN PRODUCTIONS, NYC www.roberturban.com -----Original Message----- From: Roger Mapes To: Len Rogers SWS ; outvoice outvoice ; gay guitarists yahoo group Sent: Sat, Apr 10, 2010 9:13 pm Subject: [gayguitarists] Re: [OutVoice] Congratulations OutVoice March 2010 Top Ten Songs WOW! As the founder, and primary singer/songwriter for Boys' Entrance, I have been blessed to incorporate the gifts of many talented musicians throughout the years. I am re-forming Boys' Entrance with my original guitarist, Mike Ferro, and have recently added a talented multi-instrumentalist from the band Pink Sheep, Brett Allen Basil. We are seeking a drummer to complete the ensemble. Our perfect drummer would be adept at changing dynamics, equally at home with percussion as a kit. Loud as Bonham and nuanced as Ray Cooper. You should be experienced at playing with sequencers as well. We have our first gig lined up in June at a Battle of the Bands in Chicago. We really need you to appear for us now. Additionally, we are recording a new cd at this time. So it is time to hit the ground running.
