QMH for November – Those Funny Lesbians: A Tribute to Lesbian Comedy

What a romp preparing this show was. It’s a salute to both stand-up comedy and funny songs by lesbians, and in my feature interview Kate Clinton talks about the state of lesbian comedy and her own take on it. And my special guest is Ivy Bottini, who just turned 83 in August, and was an early out-of-the-closet comic, and long time activist. I’ve got other comments as well, by pioneers Robin Tyler and Lynn Lavner, Maxine Feldman and Lisa Koch. Having no willpower, this project turned into over four hours of, I think, the best of lesbian humor.
