Angels” I asked--Please tell us what brought about the conception or
how "We Are Angels" was born?

Roger Anthony Mapes--Thanks for asking!--I was dating a man.  He used
to work as a counsellor in a group home for the developmentally
disabled. There was one of the men who was always at Mark's side. He
loved Mark and they became very close. One day Mark was talking about
the man and said that he was an “Angel Struggling To Be Human” and
that struck me like a lightning bolt. I thought about that phrase and
mulled it over and over and finally came up with the song “We Are
Angels” that has become my most popular song.
