Thirty short  films, including several from San  Antonio, will compete  for 
the coveted Golden Pecan awards this weekend at the Golden Pecan award this  
weekend at the forth annual Seguin Film & Arts Festival.   
It all begins  Friday. Film entries screen Saturday at the Palace Theater in 
downtown Seguin. Admission is $3  for the general public and $2 for students 
and seniors for each block of films.  $10 will get you in to all the films, 
excluding the "Sound of Music"  sing-a-long. 
Entries have come  from as far away as Los  Angeles, Alabama and North  
Carolina and, of course,  from San  Antonio, an increasing  hotbed of budding film 
activity. 
S.A.  actor-singer-comedian Jade Esteban Estrada's 14-minute comic 
documentary _"Ennis  Does Southtown_ 
(http://www.seguinfestival.org/2008/EnnisDoesSouthtown.aspx) " lights up the Palace screen at 9  a.m. Saturday. Expect  some 
irreverence. Estrada portrays a lactose intolerant, vegetarian, gay cowboy  loose 
at First Friday in San  Antonio's arts district  in that one. 
It's shaping up  as a weekend of mixed hopes for Nikki Young. The PrimaDonna 
Productions  president is involved in two Seguin entries. She  co-produced and 
co-stars in _"Dating  Danielle_ 
(http://www.seguinfestival.org/2008/DatingDanielle.aspx) ," director Chadd Green's five-minute dating service  mishap 
piece. 
Young also  co-stars in Bryan Ortiz's five-minute horror ditty _"Four  
Minutes Til the End." _

drama _"The  Theory of Everything"_

(http://www.seguinfestival.org/2008/Intervention.aspx) director Michael Lange's 29-minute drama about two 
brothers and  the death of their parents. 
It isn't all film  fest in Seguin this weekend,  though. Our neighbors to the 
northeast are making a day of it with Trade Days  from 9  a.m. to 3  p.m. on 
Saturday and  Hats Off to Juan Seguin following the festival awards 
presentation.
