RATE: Professional Pay


MC / HOST $250 - $300 per show. Compensation will begin during rehearsals and remain in place during the initial 3 night per week run Thurs -Sat (2 shows per night) and the run is expected to expand to a 6 night per week run! 


DJ / CO-HOST: $150 - $200 per show.  Compensation will begin during rehearsals and remain in place during the initial 3 night per week run Thurs -Sat (2 shows per night) and the run is expected to expand to a 6 night per week run!

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION:  Counts Media is a new entertainment company in New York founded by Michael Counts, the co-founder and artistic director of the highly acclaimed experimental theater company GAle GAtes (in DUMBO).  Michael Counts has created a wide range of ground breaking productions that have pushed the boundaries of what a theater experience can be for more than a decade!  Counts has been called a "Mad Genius" but the New York Times and TimeOutNY credited him with having the most fertile imagination in the New York City theater.
This NEW SHOW, tentatively titled "SHOW at SPOTLIGHT ON BROADWAY" is a collaboration between Michael Counts,  the creators of Blue Man Group and legendary comedy writer BRUCE VILANCH.


OVERVIEW: This new show  SHOW at SPOTLIGHT ON BROADWAY"  will combine the tone and style of the 20's Cotton Club era, the 40's Copacabana era,  elements of German Cabaret, the Modern Burlesque and contemporary nightclub acts,  all with the added twist of multi-media and video entertainment as well!


SEEKING:


HOST / Master of Ceremonies:  Male or Female, 20's - 50's,  any ethnicity as long as there is GREAT energy and this person is CHARISMATIC and MULTI-TALENTED!  This MC could be anything from a HIP 20-something in a retro suit and tie on the one hand to a drag queen on the other extreme!  In  other words,  we are seeking the ultimate in terms of someone having a unique NYC persona!  The MC should be able to SING and DANCE to some degree...  and do a short STAND-UP set as well.  Having great comic ability is KEY.  The MC should also have GREAT STYLE,  and must be CHARMING and ABLE TO RUN A ROOM.  The MC should be CLASSY,  EDGY,  and  URBAN,  and even exotic in some way,  if possible!   There will be a distinct NYC vibe to this new show!   Show begins rehearsal mid-late August and the 3 night per week open ended run (Thurs-Sat) will begin 1st week of October.Rate is $200 - $350 per show and compensation will begin during rehearsals and remain in place during the initial 3 night per week run Thurs -Sat (2 shows per night) and then the run is expected to expand to a 6 night per week run! 




DJ / Co-Host:  Male or Female, 22- 35 years old,  any ethnicity (as long as this person has some SOLID DJ-ing experience / ability and meets the rest of the criteria below).  First and foremost, it is imperative that the DJ/Co-Host has GREAT stage presence as well as comedy and improvisational skills to keep very entertaining banter going with the MC.   We are also looking for the DJ to have GREAT STYLE, CHARM, have an URBAN and EDGY feel to him/her,  but still be classy!  Exotic types would be a plus. We also need someone who really knows how to SPIN and has EXCELLENT  DJ SKILLS,  but an engaging, outgoing and comedic personality is the most important thing!  For this role,  think Ellen Degeneres type DJ's for example... Show begins rehearsal mid-late August and the 3 night per week open ended run (Thurs-Sat) will begin 1st week of October.
