                   ========================================
                             THIS WAY OUT
             the international gay & lesbian radio magazine
                Program #1,013, distributed 09/03/07
  (hosted this week by Greg Gordon and produced with Lucia Chappelle)
     A toilet tap dance "stalls" U.S. Senator Larry Craig's career;
A queer pioneer's coming out quote highlights another "Rainbow Minute";
Indy Aussies, old-time country and an alt-folk fave in the "Audiofile";
 An Iowa judge finds marriage inequality unconstitutional, lynch mobs
pursue busted Nigerian gays, Anglican anguish continues with a lesbian
 bishop nominee and more defecting clergy, and other global GLBT news

* In "NewsWrap": In one of the strongest arguments yet for marriage equality
in the U.S., a judge in Iowa rules that the state's "Defense of Marriage Act"
is unconstitutional, while Maine's highest court overturns a state law banning
joint adoption by same-gender couples... even though a Muslim mob tries to
lynch the men arrested for allegedly attending a "gay wedding" in Nigeria, they
apparently won't face the death penalty... the Anglican Communion continues to
teeter on schism following the nomination of a partnered lesbian to be the
next Episcopal bishop of Chicago and the Anglican consecration of two more
conservative Episcopal priests in Africa following their defection over lesbigay
inclusion... and other GLBT news from around the world (written by GREG GORDON,
and reported this week by RICK WATTS and JON BEAUPRE).

* IDAHO's senior U.S. SENATOR LARRY CRAIG resigned September 1st following
revelations of his arrest and plea to a lesser charge after being busted in an
airport men's room for soliciting sex from an undercover policeman. We have
excerpts from his two press conferences this week, and reflect on some of the
issues this incident raises (written by GREG GORDON and reported by RICK WATTS
and JON BEAUPRE, with intro/outro music from the 1994 gay musical comedy "THE
BALLAD OF LITTLE MIKEY" – thanks JD!).

* This "RAINBOW MINUTE" profiles a U.S. expatriate who found freedom in
Paris, quotes his comments about coming out, and asks "Who Said This?" (the answer:
JAMES BALDIN) (produced by JUDD PROCTOR & BRIAN BURNS at WRIR-FM in Richmond,
Virginia and read by DUSTIN RICHARDSON).

* Independent Aussies (excerpts from "Help Me Make It Through the Night" and
"Sydney2" from BLUEHOUSE's "ONE MORE KISS"), old-time country ("Pretty Girl"
and "Fever Moon" from DIANA JONES' "MY REMEMBRANCE OF YOU"), and an alt-folk
favorite ("Coming Home (The Eclipse)" and "Bright Colored Afternoons" from AMY
COOK's "THE SKY OBSERVER'S GUIDE") grace this all lesbian edition of the
"AUDIOFILE" (with comments by the artists, hosted by CHRIS WILSON & JD DOYLE and
written and produced with CHRISTOPHER DAVID TRENTHAM).
