"Who are R.U.B.? They are four experienced NYC-based musicians, each of whom 
have gained a reputation in Gotham's independent music scene in their own 
right: Award-winning musician/producer ROBERT URBAN of The Robert Urban Band on 
vocals and guitar; STEVE SULLIVAN on bass (also of The Robert Urban Band); 
GORDON SMITH of the electro-pop band Rubberlegs on vocals and synthesizer; and 
ANTHONY MAULELLA, also of Rubberlegs, on percussion."

A favorite with gay, lesbian, transgender and staight audiences alike, the 
bandmembers of R.U.B. - offer an exhuberant, genuine approach to the memorable, 
danceable and singable 80's pop hits we all grew up on - and have taken the 
NYC club-scene by storm. Recent R.U.B. NYC apperances include the Lower East 
Side's ROCKWOOD HALL, HELEN'S CABARET in the heart of gay Chelsea, world-famous 
DANNY's SKYLIGHT LOUNGE on Broadway's Restaurant Row, the Upper West Side's 
upscale CITRUS BAR and many "back-by-popular-demand" evenings at PENANG LOUNGE on 
Columbus Ave.

R.U.B. has been known to feature special surprise guest performers - 
including some of Manhattan's most beloved singing drag queens and celebrity 
impersonators. At CITRUS BAR they were joined by Janis Joplin impersonator 
extraordinaire TRAVIS and beloved Carol Channing clone CLOVER HONEY. At a recent sold- 
show at Helen's Cabaret,   R.U.B. first performed a special DEPECHE MODE tribute 
and then backed-up the unsinkable Howie V CHER for a medley of rocked-out CHER 
hits. It's no surprise the band is fast-becoming a favorite of LGBT 
pride-fests across the U.S.

The four gents of R.U.B. (two are gay and two are straight) have all worked 
with each other before in various collaborations. Their shows - four-set long 
musical marathons of venerable rock hits are matched every minute by reciprocal 
energy from their appreciative audiences.
