Subject: PRESS RELEASE: 2006 Pride In The Arts Festival, The Hills Are Alive!

StoneWall Society Network has announced the first Pride In The Arts Festival to be held in Walton, West Virginia at Longfork Campgrounds and Resort. The Festival is the culmination of over fours years planning by StoneWall Society founder, Len Rogers. The Pride In The Arts Festival will take place June 16, 17, and 18th in conjunction with Longfork Campgrounds and Resort's Pride celebration.

The theme for the 2006 Pride In The Arts Festival will be "The Hills Are Alive, With The Sound Of Pride!" The focus of the festival will be to encourage "awareness of" and "pride in" art created by GLBTI Artists, (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered, Intersexed Artists). All categories available in StoneWall Society's annual Pride In The Arts Awards will be included at the festival. There will be three staging areas, to provide for musicians, performance artists and areas established for exhibitions for visual and literary artists. The Film category will be included with film showings throughout the festival. According to Rogers, "The Film Category will be the featured award given this year, festival guests will be able to screen films and vote for the Festival Favorite.

The festival will also open the nomination period of the fifth annual Pride In The Arts Awards. "We will accept live nominations from festival attendees." Rogers explains, "The first four years have been an online event. This will bring the Pride In The Arts Awards to a new experience."

Longfork Campgrounds and Resort, the location sponsor of the festival, will provide an advantageous and unique locale for the Pride In The Arts Festival. Longfork's natural scenic location is secluded and welcomes all genders. Surrounded by West Virginia Mountains, Longfork will make an appropriately breath-taking backdrop to an event focused on art and self pride! Attendees may make onsite Festival camping reservation directly at Longfork Campgrounds and Resort via: reservations at longfork.com or through the Longfork website at www.longfork.com.

The artists featured at the Pride In The Arts Festival are participating artists in either the StoneWall Society GLBT Artists Promotion or OutVoice. Participation and or membership in either are free. One registration by the artists establishes participation in both promotions. Artists may register for participation at www.stonewallsociety.com or www.outvoice.net. Currently over four hundred artists participate in the combined promotions. Artists are located worldwide, but primarily in the United States, Canada, and England.

The deadline for artist registration to participate in the Pride In The Arts Festival is April 10, 2006. Artists may contact sysop at stonewallsociety.net to register, and for information regarding artist registration and participation. The Festival will be filmed. Content of the film will be made available to Pride Organizers, GLBTI Centers, and available for retail purchase. All artists in attendance will be included in the film. "We see this as a unique way to make a promotional for a broad array of GLBTI talent. As well as, demonstrate various methods of promoting all categories of the GLBTI art world to the Pride event organizers.", stated Rogers. StoneWall Society is also inviting art promoters and art support groups to the Pride In The Arts Festival 2006 to aid the artists in resources and community awareness. A continually updated entertainment and event schedule for the Pride In The Arts Festival will be maintained at; www.stonewallsociety.com, www.outvoice.net, and www.longfork.com.
