"No Dancing Allowed (Radio Edit)"
(Dave Montana)

Imagine no beat
Imagine no sound
Your hands on your back
Your face on the ground
Thou shall not dance
Thou shall not move
Thou shall not swing
Thou shall not groove

Uniformed men enforced the law
Abused their power and everyone saw
People being killed who'd tried to break free
Running from the man who said
No dancing allowed

They gathered around
And structured a plan
They're going to fight
They're taking a stand
Music on loud
Bright coloured lights
Adrenaline rush
Absolute high

The crowd marched on
to Christopher Street
All in sequence
Down to the beat
No one could stop them
Million strong
Defying the man who said
No dancing allowed

Stomp your feet
Raise your hands
Move your body
As fast as you can
The time is now
To take your chance
Stop any law that says
No dancing allowed

Now - why am I posting this here?
Because the Kevin Aviance incident happened on the same month as the
Stonewall Riot. Coincidence? Maybe... Of course I wrote this song before
all this happened but I thought I would share it. This track will be out
in a few weeks on a compilation on Section 44 Records; details on that to
be shared soon.

In the meantime, you can listen to it by copying the following link and
paste it to your browser.
