Synopsis:
"Master entertainer" Jade Esteban Estrada (Comedy Central's THE GRAHAM NORTON
EFFECT, PBS's IN THE LIFE TV) returns to New Orleans to debut his
award-winning solo musical comedy ICONS: The Lesbian and Gay History of the World, Vol. 1
. A former scratch vocalist for the Back Street Boys and choreographer to
cuchi-cuchi Latin diva Charo, Estrada is known for his skillful and hilarious
onstage transformations. Playing famous LGBT icons of past and present including
Sappho, Michelangelo, Oscar Wilde, Gertrude Stein, Sylvia Rivera and Ellen
DeGeneres, the "funny and irreverent" performer has toured the nation widely with
his popular one-person shows. Style Weekly raves, "Estrada's bug-eyed
portrayal of Gertrude Stein is brilliant." The Raleigh News and Observer states, "
Estrada is a one-man festival."
